A Very Long Post
PART 1:

We were asked to write a descriptive essay for the subject English about the topic that is Is frequently used: MYSELF. Since I can't consider anything agreeable to post, I think it would be a good idea to write my essay. (I can’t say that this is really a descriptive essay but, its worth a shot).

Hello. My name is Maricon Montajes. I am pure Filipina and proud of it. 16 years old, the eldest in the family. I Have Filipina-brown skin, Brown short hair, hazel brown eyes, and unfortunately only 4'9" tall (yes, it’s sad – but I like to think otherwise). There's really nothing special about me. I am just one of those ordinary young people who you see walking along the streets wearing ordinary garments, wandering with ordinary shoes, taking a bath using ordinary shampoos, conditioners, soaps, eating very ordinary food similar to isaw, quek-quek, fish ball and etc. I converse ordinarily and frankly, there's really really really nothing special about me.
Funny though, because as I speak, I speak very ordinarily but the catch is that when it comes to talking about me, my mouth and my mind collide just like Bonnie and Clyde does. Words uncontrollably discharge and sputter from my mouth. So let the sputtering begin!

When it comes to my hobbies, there are a lot to share about. But truth be told, there's really one thing that I'm passionate about. That is music. I have been listening to music since God knows when. I remembered the first music album I bought was Alamis Morisette's Jagged Little Pill. I was about 5 years old at that time. I love to listen to all sorts of music, from modern rock to classic rock to reggae to electronica to ska to hiphop. If there’s one thing that I’m good at, I think its music. Someday, I would like to have a job that’s somehow intertwined with music.

Some of my hobbies include playing the guitar, reading, and having heart to heart and real conversations with real people. I also love to watch movies. I love watching documentaries and someday, I will learn how to make them. I love to learn new things that I’m interested about. I am not hard to please and I appreciate different kinds of art – because art is self expression. I can laugh with you about anything anytime. Anybody can talk to me about anything. I am not one of those stereotype girls who love to look at themselves, who thinks about the latest Gucci collection and who thinks that Paris Hilton is a goddess. I like to eat and I don’t get fat. (Thank God). I am independent and most of the time; I like to isolate myself from people to get in touch with myself. I am very optimistic and well, I am a happy-go-lucky person. I like to think that life exists for us to celebrate and not for us to dread. I really love to have independence and I want to decide for myself. When I expect too much, I don’t like to get disappointed. I am funny yet silent at times. I am a frustrated writer, poet and photographer. Right now I’m dying for focus, motivation, knowledge and thick-crust pizza.

PART 2:

I was tagged by nobody else but:
Lounga

Instructions: Name ten (10) of life's simple pleasures that you like the most, then pick ten (10) people to do the same. Try to be original and creative and not to use things that someone else has already used.

In no particular order:

1. PIZZA. There's nothing more than to chillax, grab the first soft drink in can you can put your hands to and lunge on the couch while watching DVDs eating the stuffiest, cheesiest, hammiest, largest and the thickest crust pizza that was just delivered earlier. The heat of the freshly baked pizza caused its smoke to rise up from its box oozing its way through your nose, teasing you slowly yet passionately. Imagine the pizza covered with pepperoni, onions, beef and more cheese. Its so good that even Diether Ocampo won't resist it.

2. CD'S. I certainly have an eargasm for CD's. There's really something about these doughnut-shaped discs that I cannot resist. Yes, its an expensive collection (for a mere high school student) but I can't repel myself from buying them. Maybe because its my obsession? NO- make that PASSION.

3. MILK CHOCOLATE. My oasis, my refuge, my comfort food. It's what I eat when I'm down, depressed and miserable. Whenever I’m down in the dumps, I find sanctuary and shelter on this white-coated fatty and carbohydrate-ty food.

4. SOLO TRIP. It's what I'm fond of, really. I like to travel alone and test my wits on this great urban jungle of Davao City. Traveling alone doesn't mean that I prefer to be alone and detest people who I am dependent with or people who I am usually with *barkada, close friends*. Compensation can be found on isolation, there is independence, frEEDOM, and most of all, you will learn how to love yourself and trust yourself. Seriously.

5. ELY, RAIMUND, MARCUS, BUDDY. The power four who graduated from UP who motivated each and everyone of us (including me, OF COURSE!) to pick our guitars and learn how to rock and roll. The tandem of four who heightened ORIGINAL PINOY MUSIC. If not for them, Sandwich wouldn't be here, Pupil wouldn't exist, and Twisted Halo wouldn't subsist. Salamat sa walang humpay na ligaya.

6. GUITARS AND BASS GUITARS. I really, really want to get serious in playing the guitar and bass guitar. But it seems that fate would not allow me to do so. How cruel. But ok lang. I know there will be a perfect time for me when I can hone my skills and play better.

7. SOUNDTRIPPING. Three words: RELAX, BLISS and RESOLVED. Need I to say more?

8.THE BEACH. I have always dreamed of settling on the beach after everything in my life has been settled, finished, and kapooshed. There’s nothing more than to feel the heat of the soothing rays of the sunrise. There's nothing more than to unwind on the shore, sipping hot cocoa or mango juice while enjoying the view of the waves splashing towards the shore. I have also wanted to try water sports like surfing, skimming and scuba diving. And of course, would I be able to resist snorkeling – my only access to witness the beauty of the Caribbean?

9. DVD. I love watching movies. Whether its art films, documentaries, indie, animations, thrillers, horror, chick-flicks, comedy, romantic comedy, heavy drama – NAME It, I'll watch it.

10.ISAW AND BINIGNIT. I miss eating ISAW! Its been a long time since I last ate Isaw. What is Isaw? For those who don't know what Isaw is: Isaw is chicken intestine grilled on flamed charcoal marinated on barbeque sauce. It may appear disgusting but it really tastes good. What is Binignit? It’s a local cuisine composed of gabi, banana, ube, sago, gata, and so much more. I miss eating these!

I won't tag anyone and anyone can freely answer this without any apprehension at all!

bring back..

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I miss days like this. Endless summer nights. The zombie-like hours of sleeping. Late nights because of watching TV. More sound tripping. More food tripping. More movie marathons. Less burdens. Less stress, more bliss.Walang humpay na ligaya.Haay. Can somebody give me a break? ANYONE? ANYBODY?

SUNDRY:

  • And so I’ve heard that Manny Paquiao is going to have his OWN concert. WTF? What the hell is going on in his mind? Are these side-effects after he got out of the hospital due to a “TUMMYACHE”? Oh my. What are the people going to see? Him singing “para sayu ang laban na tu..” on and on again? Now I won’t flabbergasted if the next headline on the news will be: JINKY, MANNY PACMAN PAQUIAO’S WIFE – ALBUM TURNS PLATINUM.

  • From now on, address me as CAPTAIN JACK SPARROW or EEDOM. Maricon is slashed-out. Orayt? ALAVET!

Ola! I welcome myself back.

I HAVE RETURNED. After almost a month of being out of the online world, I AM BACK - DEFINITELY back. What did I miss? What happened during my absence? My apologies for not recalling to update my blogbecause I was busy as a bee. There were a lot of things that happened to me during my "rest". So many things occurred during my absence, I don’t know where to start. I guess the smartest thing to do to catch up is to start where I left things. So where did I end? Ahh.. oo nga pala.

  1. The first day of school. There's only one word to describe the first day of school. SHET. I arrived at school with a not-so-pleasant-mood. The hype in meeting the whole barkada, classmates, and discover who my classmates were was gone. I felt so numb and agitated that the excitement was eaten up by the restlessness I felt. Maybe it was due to the lack of sleep, or maybe because I was still adjusting to the new "ENVIRONMENT". (new environment, eh?). Basta, I know you get what I mean. It's not like i'm the only one experiencing the so called "First- Day High Blues" – or am I?
  2. CLASS AND CLUB ELECTIONS. If you, dear reader, would happen to stay inside our school campus for the whole week of club campaigns and election, I swear and guarantee you that you could feel the pressure and the heat of the elections. I don't know what the fuck my batch mates have with each other because they seem to look so gung ho and aggressive in running for the position they wanted to be voted in. I too, admittedly was running for some positions in some clubs and inside the class, but I never allowed myself to step on someone else. I never permitted myself to compete with others with regards to the officer ships and never in my ENITRE life did I ask for power. All I wanted was to serve and function as a great student leader. But what happened inside the whole of that week was a great mumbo jumbo. Students betraying each other, or if not, talking behind ones back. Thank God that week is OVER. As in WAY over. So yesterday, so yesterday. By the way highway, I don’t mean to brag alright but I’m so happy because I won as the CLASS PRESIDENT (for straight 5 yrs, since grade 6), SOCIAL STUDIES CLUB PRESIDENT AND STUDENT COORDIANTING COUNCIL V. PRES. (congrats beh).
  3. Friking Physics. When I was still in 3rd year, I asked some of my friends in the 4th year: "Is Physics harder than Chemistry?" They would answer, "No, Physics is much EASIER." Good. Now I shouldn't have a hard time dealing with Physics. I shouldn't have a hard time analyzing every question, scrutinizing every single bit of information I know from the subject that was said to be easy-RIGHT? WRONG! FRIKIN WRONG. ABSOLUTELY WRONG! It’s the total opposite. The harder I try to understand, comprehend and appreciate the subject, the harder the subject gets for me to understand. I don’t know, but I suspect 2 things: Its either I hate Physics or Physics hates me. What do you think?
  4. Song Composition Contest. Almost all the highschool students are busy with everything-from projects to tests to quizzes to class presentations, to requirements and in particular, the Song Composition Contest that’s all about our dear foundress (Ano ba ang bago). So far, we've improved from 2 to 6. Not bad at all.

So to make the story short, my whole life as of now is basically highlighted with school events, school happenings, school affairs – name it. So don’t expect me to post about me meeting Johnny Depp anytime soon. Or at least I could pretend. Uunahan ko na kayo, I won’t promise to update my blog on an everyday basis, but I’ll promise to update it from time to time. Ok? Good. Alavet. OBRIGADO!
